So, I was searching around in my closet for the perfect pair of shoes for the day when I stumbled upon a pair of brand new shoes that I had bought a couple months ago and never wore, how that happen still have no idea. I got so excited when they matched my outfit perfectly.

The morning was perfect until I started walking around in the office. I soon realized that my brand new sandals were squeaking so bad that they were practically screaming out to everyone that I walked by. In a last effort to save this new shoes that I love so much, I started looking around for ways to make new shoes to stop squeaking and here are some of the great ideas that I found.

1. Wet shoes can be a problem. You need to let them dry thoroughly either in a dryer or air dry. A great idea for athletic shoes is to put them in the dryer on tumble.

2. I had never even heard of air conditioner until I started searching for things that would help get rid of the squeaking. Apparently it works great when you rub it into the parts of your shoes that rub together, or even the tongue and the laces.

3. Sometimes you can tell the exact spot it is coming from. If you have noticed that it comes from the tongue you can use saddle soap for a quick remedy. All you have to do is rub it in enough to really get it working.

4. If you dont want to go out and buy anything, there are things that you have around the house that can help as well. Cornstarch and baby powder work really well too. Make sure you get it everywhere in your shoe. Its always a good idea to take out the insole even to make sure you dont miss a spot. Let them sit for a good 12-24 hours before you wear them.

5. Check to see if the heel is loose. If so, re-glue with an adhesive product and clamp until dry.

6. If all else fails, spray lightly with silicone spray. It acts much like WD-40 and will not harm the leather.

If none of the above options work and you love the shoes, try talking to your local shoe repair shop to see if they have any suggestions.

Yesterday morning while getting ready for work, I noticed a new pair of shoes I have had for months but had not yet worn lurking in the back of my closet. Being the shoe collector I am, it is not unusual for me to have shoes sit several months between wearings, but never before have I neglected one of my new friends for so long. Determined to remedy this situation, I pulled out my lovely and new, never-been worn sandals and chose the perfect ensemble for my shoes first day out.

Everything was great, for a while that is, until I noticed an odd sort of squeaking sound from my left shoe. I hoped it was because they were new and that the sound would dissipate. As the day went on, the squeaking became more frequent and pronounced until my beautiful new sandals were virtually barking at me with every step. By the end of the day, I knew that if I could not stop these lovely new sandals from squeaking, it would be their last trip from the closet. Determined to save my new friends from a life of darkness in a solitary cubby hole, I searched for remedies to stop the squeaking. Here are the most helpful suggestions I found.

1. Wet shoes can be a problem. You need to let them dry thoroughly either in a dryer or air dry. A great idea for athletic shoes is to put them in the dryer on tumble.

2. Ever heard of shoe conditioner? It can really help with the squeaking if you rub it into the areas where the shoe naturally bends or rubs together. This can include the lace holes or on parts of the tongue.

3. Saddle soap can also help on the tongue of the shoe. Make sure you dont just lightly dab but really rub it into the tongue.

4.There are other things you have right around the house that can help too, like cornstarch or baby powder. Sprinkling it into the shoes, lifting the insoles to make sure you dont miss a spot. Most people get great results when they let it sit for a night a whole day before they try to wear them.

5. Sometimes the problem can be as simple as a heal being loose. Well, you will have to get strong craft glue or strong super glue in order to take care of that.

6. If all else fails, spray lightly with silicone spray. It acts much like WD-40 and will not harm the leather.

Hopefully after youve tried some of the above suggestions youve been able to find great success. If not and you absolutely cant part with your shoes try a local shoe repair shop. They will definitely be able to help you get rid of that annoying noise. If none of the above options work and you love the shoes, try talking to your local shoe repair shop to see if they have any suggestions.
